Some templates may have an "expandable background" that appears to stretch across the screen. The reason for this is that so all of the white space is filled in any size browser resolution:
You may decide that a particular website template design would be more suited to your tastes without this effect. In such instances, the below information will guide you in removing this type of stretched background effect.
Open the html file in a text editor such as Notepad.
Look for <table> tags and/or <td> tags that have background ../images assigned to them (there may be more than one):
Delete the portions of the tags that contain the background image so the tags look similar to this:
If you open the html file in an html editor such as Dreamweaver, click on the area in the document that has the stretched background:
In the Properties panel, delete the reference to the background image:
